WHAT????!!!!! YOU HAVE NEVER HAD CHOCOLATE MERINGUE PIE OR AN ENCHILADA????? oh, no.....I feel so sorry for you!!!! My mom always made the yummiest, best ever, ever, ever chocolate meringue pie!!!! I have her recipe. Literally, we all would fight over who was going to get the chocolate pie at Christmas....my hubby would scrape off the meringue. And I make the best Tex-mex enchiladas around. My son will come over and eat with us if I make enchiladas. I will have to post the recipes and you can try them yourself. Both are out of this world yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only vegetable that I eat (besides the trimmings on my cheeseburgers) is green beans. I love potatoes, but they aren't a vegetable...neither corn, right? They are starches, as are pinto beans and black eye peas and butter beans. Love me some starches, that's for sure!!!
Are you saying you don't have cockroaches where you are? I have to say that in our neighborhood where we have lived for 18 years now, I have only seen two cockroaches EVER. Neither were in my house....outside. But, they are abundant here. AND once you have them, they are really hard to get rid of, especially the tiny ones....My mother in law had them so bad in one house she lived in that even though she had the exterminator come regularly, they would almost cover the kitchen counter at night and scurry into safety the minute a light came on. It was a nightmare. She moved. lol
We have fire ants here. They are HORRIBLE. I HATE them. Of course, we have wood ants and crazy ants, but the fire ants are the worst.
And you are hilarious!!! No one else will notice that I left out 61. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
I have had so many different "best friends" in my life...unfortunately, people come and go here....we live so close to the military installation that a lot of people move away when their tour of duty here is over. My best friend ever can never be replaced either, but, being a good girls scout, I still remember the song they taught us, "Make new friends, but keep the old....one is silver and the other gold." Right now, the best friend I have is a co-worker that is 61 and she makes me laugh practically the entire time we are together. I tell her all the time, "I just love you, Joyce" and she replies, "no, you don't".
If you have never, ever bought a bottle of body wash, please do me a favor and just buy one bottle...you will be amazed at how good it makes you skin feel. Dove Cucumber and Green Tea scent is my favorite. It takes very little...about the size of a quarter on a rag to bathe in and it just feels wonderful.
The reason I love the smell of damp leaves is it reminds me of my grandfather's house. They had pecan trees and he believed in letting the leaves deteriate on their own...that they were God's way of blanketing the ground and fertilizing the soil. He was right. We would play in the piles that the wind would mound up and the rain would make remain piled. I loved jumping in them, then burying ourselves in them.
Didn't your girls ever play with Barbie and Ken????
It's wonderful to find someone else in this world who NEVER drinks plain water!!! Everyone is always so surprised when I say I haven't had plain water in 19 years (not since I was pregnant with my youngest son). This article convinced me that I was right in my decision not to touch the nasty stuff: http://www.portlandmercury.com/portland/where-does-my-poop-go/Content?oid=28160&cb=77d6c1d57afd3123684925d3b112e929&sort=desc
Hugs!
I don't know what enchaladas are but definitely know that I don't like any spicy foods, except homemade chili without chili powder.
DeleteNever heard of chocolate meringue pie and am not crazy about chocolate much. It wouldn't tempt me.
I eat and love ALL vegetables, but now I have to have cooked or canned because I can't chew very well. (No choppers up or down in back of my mouth!)
Sweet potatoes are the ONLY thing that I can't eat. They make me throw up!
Fresh corn is classified as a vegetable and dried corn is classified as a grain! Each kernel is a FRUIT! I always understood that potatoes are a TUBEROUS vegetable and a starch.
We have "Palmetto bugs" aka roaches in and around our trailer in SC at the campground. We have the Bug Man com and spray inside and out twice a year. They don't bother me at all. We have never had any in PA. We also see many fire ant hills and have a powder to sprinkle on them. Once, a single bite cause a blister on my toe, but otherwise, I just avoid them.
Body wash! Feel good?? I wash to get clean and scrub off dead skin and to cool down when I'm hot. I don't care for any scents.
Don't ALL kids enjoy jumping in piles of leaves? NOT wet leaves though. We burn ours. My dad always put them in a "mulch" box with other organic things to deteriorate and put in the garden the next year.
No, my girls rode bikes and rollerskates and horses and didn't play with dolls.
As for plain water..... I can handle it ONLY if I put sweetener in it, artificial or real. I'm never thirsty either. We have deep well water here and also artesian wells are in the area. The water is always cold and chemical-free.
