CAPTURED!

While looking through a box of old stuff, I once came upon a baby book that was kept by my grandmother. This little book had a cutting of my mother's hair when she was just one year old (1915) and that is when she was baptized as well. The cutting was sewn into the last page.

Several months ago, a jewelry artist friend had a promotion going on regarding her new line of jewelry and she was soliciting stories of how something could be "captured" in her hand made works. I was immediately struck with a thought that she could capture a piece of this hair in a pendant. I wrote a story. I was notified that all 16 stories entered were winners. I won a pendant!

This hair was sent to her in SC via regular postage by packaging the whole little book! I was too much afraid to try to pull out what she would need. After she completed the piece, she returned it with the baby book.

How wonderful! Here are the pictures of my captured treasure. I love it!
These photos are from her web page.

This is the original book. It is 3 1/2 inches by 5 inches.
I scanned it in case it was lost in the mail.
